One Year Ago Today!

One year ago today my grandson was born!
I have only seen him once this whole year! And We were not invited to his b-day party! I am sort of sadden by this, well not sort of , I am saddend by this, BUT we did give up our rights to his life when Brittany put him up for adoption! I just wish we were able to see him more then what we do!

I am still in a lot of pain with my back!

I need to take some tylenol and rest while my day care kids are resting!

Hope every one is having a good day!

Happy Birthday little one. I can only imagine how you may feel Sharon. It is these special days in his life that you will feel that extra tug in your heart. I know it does not take the pain away but the great thing is that you had the opportuniy to know who is raising him. Many others never find out.

Sending you a big hug. Hope you feel better soon physically and emotional.

Was it really a year ago....... How did Brittany handle today?

You'll always be a piece of that wee boy, and he a piece of you.

It would be difficult for me too, if I knew I had a grandchild somewhere, knowing I wouldn't see him.

Happy Birthday to your grandson. I wish you all could see him more too. I remember reading your entry about that day he was taken to the other family. I think I never cried so hard for you because I know what it's like. My daughter had my grandson at 16yo, but I was never so thankful as the day she told me she had chosen to keep him. I have helped her this whole time as the father didn't want any part of his life UNTIL now. It was a hard way, but my life would be so empty without my boy in my life. I pray that family will let you all see him, but honestly I guess I can see why they wouldn't want you all at the party. As he gets older, they will not want you all around as that will bring up questions that I'm guessing the adopted parents are not willing or ready to answer. I was adopted and my parents never even wanted me to know until I was grown so I can see all sides of this. I'm just sorry that you all had to go this route.
Hugs, Chrissie

Good morning friend, I can not imagine how it must feel for you as I was on the other side and the child given up due to circumstances. I often wonder the pain the mother went through when on the exact day seventeen years later she had my baby half-sister.
I guess I have never even thought about grandparents but of course back in those days it was all sealed adoptions and only in recent years when our Alberta Province opened up the records did I find my half-sisters. THe mother was still alive but in stages of Alzheimers.
My only thought is to be thankful this little one was not flushed away like so many have been since Roe vs Wade was made law.
I am saying a special prayer for you right now.

BLessings,
Lori

I feel your pain Sharon. You will always remember important events in his life. There is a show I watch called "The Locator." http://www.wetv.com/the-locator/ I hope they allow you all to have a vested, emotional, impact on this precious child you both share.

I do remember that well....you will always reflect on the day he was born and wonder "what if". How is B handling this day? Does she ever mention her decision? It's gotta be tough.
